Thank you for visiting our website at https://www.juniorversity.com.hk. At Juniorversity Education Group Limited (“Juniorversity”, “we” or “us”), we strive to uphold the trust our community places in our brand, and our commitment to your privacy is no exception. As part of the ABC Pathways Group Limited (“ABC”), we are dedicated to protecting and safeguarding consumer privacy on the internet, especially for children. As of the date of this Privacy Policy, we operate a number of franchised schools in Shek Mun, Olympic, Aberdeen, Tuen Mun, Lai Chi Kok, and Yuen Long (each, a “School”). For purposes of this Privacy Policy, "we" or "us" shall include our Schools.

We reserve the right to revise this Privacy Policy and related notices at any time. Any amendments will be posted on the appropriate section of our website without prior individual notice. You may review the updated Privacy Policy and related notices at any time on our website. If applicable privacy laws require your consent for policy changes, the revised Privacy Policy will only apply to you after obtaining your consent. Thank you for visiting our website and for your trust in us.

We are committed to protecting the privacy of you and your children and are pleased to provide information about our online privacy policy. We will make every effort to protect the privacy of visitors to this website.

1. Purposes of Collecting Personal Data

We will use your personal data and, if applicable, your child’s personal data for the following purposes:

  • To process applications for admission and enrolment at the School.

  • To undertake various school administration, accounting and operation tasks.

  • To manage student records and provide educational services.

  • To communicate with parents or guardians regarding school activities, events, and emergencies.

  • To conduct surveys, research, and statistical analysis for school improvement.

  • To comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • For any other purposes directly related to the above.

You must provide your personal data and, if applicable, your child’s personal data for the above purposes. Otherwise, we may not be able to process your application or provide the relevant services.

2. Types of Information Collected and How We Use It

We may collect the following types of personal data about you and/or your children (as the case may be):

  • Name, occupations, and contact details (e.g., phone number, email address, mailing address).

  • Date of birth, gender, attended schools and school grades.

  • Academic records, attendance records, and performance reports.

  • Medical information, special educational needs, and dietary requirements.

  • Credit card(s) and or bank account details.

  • Emergency contact information. This includes contact details for designated individuals who may be reached in case of emergencies involving your child.

We only collect personal data when you voluntarily provide it after being fully informed. For example, we may collect personal data to obtain your feedback on our website and services or to enable your participation in school events, activities, or competitions.

We abide by certain restrictions when we collect, hold or use Hong Kong Identity Card (the “HKID”) card numbers and/or copies of HKID cards of individuals.

The general principle is that we will first consider alternatives to collecting HKID numbers/copies, such as using a passport number.

Where we are required or permitted to collect HKID numbers or copies, we will take reasonable steps to ensure:

  • HKID numbers and copies are verified against the actual HKID card.

  • HKID numbers and copies are only used for permitted purposes under privacy regulations.

  • HKID numbers are not publicly displayed.

  • HKID numbers and copies are retained only as necessary.

  • Adequate security measures are implemented for HKID copies.

  • Copies of HKID cards are marked “copy” across the image.

3. Use of Photos and Images

During enrolment, parents or guardians are informed through the eApplication Form Terms and Conditions that student photos may be used for promotional purposes, such as event coverage (e.g., Open Days, Graduation Parties). Parents who wish to opt out of this practice may submit a written request at the time of enrolment.

When sharing student names alongside photos or testimonials in promotional materials (e.g., award announcements, social media posts), we proactively contact parents or guardians to obtain verbal consent prior to publication. Schoolwork, such as artwork or academic projects, may be displayed in internal publications or on secure platforms using the student’s first name only. If a student’s full name is included with their schoolwork, explicit parental consent is required.

For photography or filming by parents at School events, we aim to maintain Juniorversity as a safe and comfortable environment for all children. We do not prohibit parents from taking photos or videos, but request that they exercise caution and respect when photographing or filming School activities, especially those involving children other than their own.

Each School is not responsible for any visual material copied by parents from secure parts of our website and then shared publicly via social media or other means. We request that parents consider student privacy and obtain permission as appropriate before distributing photos/videos from School events.

With your consent, we may use your personal data (e.g., name, email address, phone number) for direct marketing purposes, including:

  • Promoting any school events, programmes, and activities.
